Developing a Personalized Solution

The court will sometimes issue an order requiring the payment of temporary alimony pending a final divorce stipulation. At that time, it may require alimony on a temporary or permanent basis, depending on the ability of the receiver to eventually support herself or his self.

The spouses themselves may also negotiate a solution that includes or does not include alimony, subject to the approval of the court. There are numerous financial, vocational and personal issues that can affect a divorcing couple's decision regarding alimony. Because alimony is taxable to the receiver and tax deductible for the payer, tax considerations can also play a role in this decision.

Our attorney John Compatore, has many years experience in issues regarding alimony and will work to develop a personalized solution for you.
